About me

I was born in Bien Hoa, Vietnam, and immigrated to the United States at a young age. Growing up in a multicultural environment, I was constantly surrounded by diverse experiences that shaped my view of the world. I pursued Biology and Latin at Regis University and later expanded my knowledge with studies at Johns Hopkins University, focusing on the History of Medicine. Currently, I am trainee at a research institute.

Alongside my academic and research journey, I developed a passion for writing and drawing stories that reflect my passion for science, medicine, history, and the richness of one’s own culture. I hope to create medium that not only tells stories but also allow us to revisit the past, question what we’ve been taught, and re-interpret the systems, beliefs, and people that have shaped the world we live in.

Additionally, as an immigrant and first-generation student, I faced many challenges, from language barriers to understanding the complexities of higher education in a new country. These experiences fueled my passion for advocating for immigrant and refugee education and wellbeing. This advocacy work is reflected through my nonprofit initiative, We V-Care, which provides resources and guidance for immigrant families, particularly those in the Vietnamese community, helping them navigate healthcare, civic, and educational systems in the United States.
